The festival of French cinema has begun in Krasnodar Automatic translate

KRASNODAR. The days of French cinema that have already become traditional in Krasnodar opened with a historical melodrama showing the clash of Portugal with Napoleon’s army “Wellington Lines” directed by Valeria Sarmiento. The program of film screenings includes films of different directions and genres that characterize the modern look of French cinema, namely comedy, historical drama, documentary films and love melodrama.

“Subtle humor and unmatched French charm, the beauty of Paris and the indescribable atmosphere of its streets, romance, touching, filigree plots and vivid characters are the hallmarks of sophisticated French cinema, a meeting with which Krasnodar awaits on Days of French Cinema,” the press service of the Ministry of Culture reports Krasnodar Territory.

Within the framework of the event, in addition to the Wellington Line film, the drama Ordinary Execution, directed by Marc Dugen, the comedy Farewell to Bert, or Grandma’s Funeral, directed by Bruno Podalides, Mademoiselle melodrama Philippe Liore and Villa Amalia, Benoit Jacquot, as well as the documentary the film "House of Radio" directed by Nicholas Philibert. All the films presented in different years have been nominated for awards of famous international festivals - Crystal Globe and Golden Lion.

Days of French cinema in the Kuban capital are held for the eighth time. The screenings were organized as part of the European Film Festival project with the support of the French cultural center Alliance Francaise, which provided films for the festival, and the Ministry of Culture of the Krasnodar Territory. The festival will end on Sunday, December 28th.
