One of them was the 13th anniversary of the theater, which officially opened on December 4th, although the first performances were held in a small basement on ul. Lenin, a few months earlier.

The first performances shown in the theater, which was just starting to live, were the production of "Carmen Alive!", Intended for adults, and the children were invited to see the tale of their beloved Carlson. It so happened that the statutory documents of the theater were issued on the birthday of its creator and director Nikolai Kolyada. Now these two birthdays are traditionally celebrated together.

This year the theater has already received two extremely significant gifts. The first of these was the Kolyada Theater move to a new building. Now fans of the theater come to performances in the former cinema Iskra, which was specially reconstructed specifically for the needs of the theater. Thanks to the second gift - a grant from the Ministry of Culture, it became possible to work on the production of "Richard the Third."

This is not the first time Nikolai Kolyada has addressed Shakespeare. The theater’s posters already included Hamlet and King Lear. Several months remained before the premiere of "Richard the Third", where the main role will be played by one of the leading artists of the theater - Oleg Yagodin.
