VORONEZH. Actress of the Voronezh TYUZA Ekaterina Toborovets presented a one-man show on the Small Stage of the theater, where she acts both as its director and performer of a single role. Although it’s difficult to call her play “the only role” - the images embodied by the actress replace each other almost instantly. Catherine Toborovets gave her performance the same romantic title as the plots of the works used to create it - “There is no more wonderful fire of love!”

The play was based on romantic stories written by Maxim Gorky. All four stories told and shown by the actress in the play relate to the early work of the writer. They are united by the series "Tales of Italy." The creation of the play, which became the directorial debut for the actress, required a lot of effort from her - she herself selected the texts, worked on the scenery. The artistic director of the production was Alexander Latushko, artistic director of the Youth Theater.

According to Ekaterina Toborovets, the reason for creating the play was her desire to introduce the audience to Gorky’s surprisingly poetic romantic texts, the existence of which many simply do not know. Most people are familiar with Gorky in the school curriculum, which includes works by the writer on a completely different subject. Gorky’s early works are devoted to love, the ability of man to an unusual act. Nowadays, such works are necessary not only for young people, but also for adults.

After the performance, the audience said that during its action the impression was not of a one-man show, but of the usual production, where there were many artists on the stage who embodied different images. The performance lasts more than an hour, the actress is alone with the audience all the time.
