In Tver, the premiere of the play "Barbara" closed the festival "Cherry Orchard" Automatic translate
TVER. The premiere of the performance “Barbaras” in the Tver Drama Theater, which took place on November 28, completed the long-term festival project “The Cherry Orchard”. Its opening took place in the last theatrical season, and the first performance of the festival was the main production of the Tver Theater "Cherry Orchard", which has been going on for almost forty years.
This performance was the directorial debut in the Tver drama of the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Vera Efremova, artistic director of the theater. This month, Vera Efremova was congratulated simultaneously with three anniversaries - the 40th anniversary of work in the theater, the 65th anniversary of creative activity and the anniversary birthday - on November 10, Vera Andreevna turned 85 years old.
Thanks to Vera Efremova’s commitment to Russian drama, the majority of the theater’s repertoire represents works by Russian classical authors. Interestingly, many of these performances are centenarians who have remained popular for many years. Even at the Cherry Orchard, which has been going on for four decades, it is extremely difficult to find empty seats in the hall.
This year, the season at the theater was opened with the "Masquerade" performance, presented to the audience as part of the "Cherry Orchard" festival. The premiere of this performance took place in 2008, also becoming the opening of the season. During the festival, the audience every month could see one of the theater’s most significant performances, and in October at the Tver drama, the city’s theater-goers had the opportunity to see the performance “Poverty is not a vice” performed by artists of the Maly Theater.
In the performance “Barbaras” presented at the closing of the festival, almost the entire theater staff was engaged. Vera Efremova in her production shows the audience the life of a provincial town described by M. Gorky, forcing them to find the characters of the modern society in the characters of the play.
