At the 27th Tokyo International Film Festival, Alexander Kott’s Russian film “Test” received 2 prizes - the highest artistic award and the audience’s prize of the Japanese television channel Wowow. Also, from the aforementioned channel, a proposal was received to purchase the rights to display the film “Test”.

“These prizes are important both for the film and for me personally. For the film, the Wowow audience prize means showing it on the TV channel, and I have already been told that negotiations are underway to purchase our film for display in Japan. This is something incredible. Prize for artistic performance - as I was told, this is a reward for some kind of artistic solution, where the operator, the artist, the director, the costumes, the make-up, and the music are important. That is, everything that creates the matter of the image itself. And I hope that we deserve this prize. This movie is about an artistic decision, ”said Alexander Kott.

The filmmaker also noted that about 2.5 million people are the audience of the Wowow television channel. Kott admitted that “he didn’t count on rent at all, because making a viewer pay for a movie without words is crazy, because the viewer is going to have fun.”

The film "Test" competed with 15 films participating in the largest film forum in Asia, held in Japan in the last week of October. The unusual style and advantages of the tape were noted not only by the judiciary, but also by Cott’s colleagues and ordinary spectators. And this is not surprising, since the film "Test" has already managed to win the main prize of the Russian "Kinotavr", held this year in Sochi.

A feature of the film is that for the entire duration of the action the characters do not pronounce a word. The plot is based on a complex love triangle that unfolded against the background of a nuclear explosion of the first hydrogen bomb in 1949.
