MOSCOW. From November 14 to 17 in the capital of Russia will be held the 7th International Film Festival "Cinema Without Barriers", dedicated to the life of people with disabilities.
The film festival will consist of two programs - the main one and the children’s one. The main venue of the show will be the Moscow cinema "Cosmos", the second - the cinema "October", which will also host the children’s program of the competition and the closing ceremony of the festival.
In total, more than a hundred works from 26 countries of the world were accepted for participation in the film festival. Each of these films is dedicated to different aspects of the lives of people with disabilities. This year, for the first time, films dedicated to older people with disabilities were accepted for participation in the film festival. For these films, a special nomination was highlighted in the competition screening.
Also, competitive films and non-competitive screenings will feature animated films. As for the children’s program, a separate competition is planned for the day - it is dedicated to paintings created by the children themselves, which will be evaluated by a special children’s jury.
Authors and actors of many competitive films plan to attend the opening of the festival. For the first time, Cinema Without Barriers will be visited by a well-known female director from Iran, as well as guests from Ireland and Australia. Outstanding director Vadim Abdrashitov will head the jury of the festival this year.
