Ukraine and Poland agreed on joint filming Automatic translate
During the 30th Warsaw Film Festival, Ukraine and Poland reached an agreement on the development and approval of an intergovernmental agreement on joint film production. The countries also intend to popularize each other’s film industry products in domestic markets.
According to the press service of the State Agency for Cinema, during the festival, a meeting was held between the director of the Polish Institute of Cinema, Agnieszka Odorovic and the chairman of the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinema, Filip Ilyenko. In particular, the parties discussed the possibility of developing the Ukrainian-Polish film industry and agreed to popularize Polish films in the domestic market of Ukraine, and in return, Ukrainian films in the Polish market.
Both sides believe that the main point of the agreements is the possibility of joint filming of a movie. “This coincides with the logic of development of the Ukrainian-Polish policy of the Goskino, laid down last year in Gdynia, and fixed this year at the Odessa Film Festival, where the Ukrainian-Polish forum took place,” the State Agency said.
The possibility of active cooperation of the Polish Film Institute with the Goskino of Ukraine in providing information on reforming the film industry and the specifics of the work of Polish producers was also agreed.
Recall that at this stage, Ukrainian cinema is actively developing. So, most recently the award of the London Film Festival went to the Ukrainian film “Tribe”.
