At the Vladivostok Youth Theater premiere of the play "Pagans" Automatic translate
VLADIVOSTOK. The theaters of Vladivostok finally waited for the premiere of the play “Pagans”, which had been controversial since the spring, when the audience was presented with a play in the form of an artistic reading. Director Sergei Rudenko, director of the play, said that on the day the reading took place, work on the play was almost finished.
Spectators who saw the premiere on July 25th noted that the difference between the premiere and The Pagans, shown in the spring as a reading, was that the actors did not have the text of the play in their hands. The unusual placement of the audience allowed them to be in a single space with the heroes of the drama written by Anna Yablonskaya.
The small size of the Small Stage of the Youth Theater did not prevent the placement, ascetic scenery of the play, actors and several rows of seats for spectators. The director of the play was engaged in the scenography of the performance. Sergei Rudenko explained - since the material of the play is complex, requiring a new approach, he decided to take on the set design.
Tickets for the play ended before the premiere, so there were no empty seats, neither on July 25th, nor the next evening, when the premiere was shown for the second time. The modern urban drama presented by the artists of the Youth Theater is unusual in both form and content. Even the genre of the performance, indicated on the theatrical poster, is unusual - “a life-affirming everyday mystery”.
The situation described in the play can happen in any family, which means that some of the audience will see familiar scenes. The playwright does not try to give answers to emerging questions, providing the opportunity to search for their viewers. They tried to solve the problem of profanity in the play by replacing the forbidden words, although the plot of the play was structured in such a way that it was not easy to do.
