KOSTROMA. Last Saturday, the City Puppet Theater showed young spectators the last performance of the theater season that ended. To say goodbye to the public before the holidays, a beautiful fairy tale from eastern life was chosen - “Aladdin’s Magic Lamp”.

Before the start of the performance, the collective was awarded the regional prize named after A. N. Ostrovsky. This award marks the successes of theaters in the past season, and he brought many awards to the Kostroma Puppet Theater at prestigious theater festivals.

The play "The Bear", which became the legend of the theater even before it was awarded the highest prize in theatrical Russia - the "Golden Mask", was again included in the list of the best performances. From Poland, where the international festival "Suitcase" was held for the 17th time, bringing together puppet theaters from different countries, Kostroma artists brought awards in two categories at once. The work of director Vladimir Biryukov was recognized as “The Best Acting Ensemble” and “The Best Set Design”.

The performance “Miracle Umbrella”, which opened the new project “Pillow Theater”, was also awarded two awards this season. The theater participated in the Workhorse Puppet Festival held in Naberezhnye Chelny. There, this performance, intended for the youngest spectators, was named the best not only by the jury. It was a choice and the public. “Miracle Umbrella”, directed by director Mikhail Loginov, received the prize “For Best Director”.

During the season several new plays for children appeared in the theater’s repertoire, but the main surprise for the Kostroma audience was the premiere of the drama “God of War”, intended for an adult audience. The director from the Czech Republic, Evgeny Ibragimov, ”included elements of a puppet theater. Spectators who managed to see this production called it a real sensation of the season.
