For the anniversary, the theater made a wonderful gift to its protagonist - on the walls of the foyer there was a photo exhibition where spectators could see Vasily Lanovoy in the roles of all the characters played by the artist over decades of work on the stage of the theater named after Vakhtangov.
The performance “Dedication to Eve”, in which Vasily Semyonovich shone on the stage on his birthday, has been going on at the Vakhtangov Theater for 15 years. This piercing story, written by Eric Schmitt, tells about the love of two men for one woman they did not understand. The performance is intended for two actors. On stage, Vasily Lanovoi and Evgeny Knyazev, and the audience in complete silence follow each movement of the characters of the production.
After the performance, the hero of the evening remained on stage for a long time - not only his colleagues came to congratulate the artist. That evening Vasily Lanovoy was honored by people who were far from the theater - politicians and the military, before whom the artist performed in “hot spots”.
