Theaters did not receive invitations for the reason that their repertoire included performances based on the plays of M. Gorky. Each of the productions has an original reading of the long-known Gorky works embodied on the stage by eminent directors.
Every evening, after the end of the performance, a discussion will be held on the features of the director’s reading of the shown production and its features. The festival jury consisting of well-known theater critics from the capital, as well as Alexander Mishin, chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the STD, will act as strict connoisseurs.
On the second festival day, spectators will be able to get acquainted with the shortest performance included in the festival program. This will be a production of a famous director from Lithuania. Oskaras Korshunovas, director of the Vilnius City Theater, put on Gorky’s famous play “At the Bottom” at 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Actors of the Nizhny Novgorod Drama Theater will show the work of director Vadim Danziger "Petty Bourgeois" at the conclusion of the festival program.
