MOSCOW. In anticipation of the opening of a new theater season in the metropolitan theater "Sphere" a gathering of the troupe took place. For the first time since the founding of the theater, the collective gathered without their permanent artistic director, people’s artist Ekaterina Elanskaya. In addition to the actors who gathered in full force, actors who played an important role in the formation of the Sphere theater came to the meeting - Evgenia Simonova, Alexander Goloborodko, Evgeny Kindinov and many others.

Alexander Korshunov, director of the theater, spoke about the immediate creative plans for the new theater season. Korshunov emphasized that the main task of the collective for the future is to preserve the spirit of the theater, created over decades of work that passed away from the life of Ekaterina Elanskaya.

In memory of their director, theater actors will open the season with the last directorial work of Ekaterina Ilyinichna. On September 5, theater fans will see the play “Honest Scam”, staged based on the play by Walter Gazenklever. And on October 16 they will honor the memory of the People’s Artist by showing the renewed play “Not Here Today” - a production with which the history of the Sphere theater began in 1981.

This premiere work of Catherine of Elana is a poetic composition based on poems of the Silver Age poets. The most famous actors took part in this production, among them was Evgenia Simonova, who will appear on the scene in the resumed performance.

In total, five new productions are planned for the new season in Sphere. The first of them will be shown in December. The premiere will be a performance for young viewers “Uncle Brizak’s Carrier”, stage reading by the director A. Korshunov of the story “Three Fat Men” by Y. Olesha. The theater plans to resume creative meetings with the actors of the troupe.
