MOSCOW. On September 15, in the Lyubimovka estate near Moscow, a presentation of a new project presented by the Stanislavsky Foundation took place. Lyubimovka, was previously the family estate of the Alekseevs, and is of particular importance for Russian theater culture.
Written by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, “The Cherry Orchard”, depicted in the form of characters the plays of the inhabitants and guests of the estate. The home theater that existed on the estate became a stage where the great Stanislavsky brought to life his director’s experiences.
In memory of these great figures of theatrical art, the presented theater project was called the Cherry Orchard. Now this historical place - the revived estate of the Alekseevs, will become the space available for the first steps in the profession to the new theater generation.
In an interview with media representatives, Zeynab Seyid-Zade, vice president of the Foundation, said that the home theater and the Theater Pavilion are equipped on the estate, where young Russian directors will be able to constantly show their new works. The Stanislavsky Foundation will act as a producer to display their work.
In addition to performances, master classes will also be held here, creative laboratories will work, and leading foreign directors will conduct their trainings. The estate already has experience of such events. In 2011, the creative laboratory was conducted by the Lithuanian director Nyakrosyus, the result of which was the birth of a stage dilogy on the “Divine Comedy”.
The project will show the work of the theater from Khimki, the play “Doctor. The first year ”, staged by Sergei Metelkin from the early stories of M. Bulgakov. The show will take place on September 21, and on the 27th the young director Kirill Vytoptopov will present the play “Judas Iscariot”.
