The festival "Theater" is held every three years. It was first held in 2001, and already in 2007 received the status of an international festival, bringing together 27 theater groups from various countries. This year the festival program includes theaters from ten cities of Russia and the former Soviet republics, as well as the Danzamobile theater from Spain.

The festival organizers watched ninety video recordings of performances from the repertoire of "special" theaters. As a result, 12 productions were selected, which became the laureates of this correspondence stage of the theater competition. Although the opening program took place at the Taganka Theater, the ZIL Cultural Center will be the venue for festival performances.

For special artists, the festival week is filled not only with playing on stage. Within the framework of the “Theater”, creative meetings will be held with stage masters, and a theater laboratory will operate, for which an unusual format is provided.

After the shows of each of the four performances presented, an informal discussion will take place. An educational program will also take place at the festival, where master classes will be held by specialists from Europe and Uzbekistan.

The performances that the actors will present in the festival program belong to different genres, many of them are works for young spectators. However, serious productions that make you think about a different perception of the world are also enough. Images born of special actors are not subject to the ordinary person.
