The festival, which became the opening of the summer concert and theater season, is being held in Vologda for the seventh time. It was first held in 2002, becoming a continuation of the Voice of History festival. Since then, both festivals have been held regularly every two years, and the territory of the Vologda Kremlin has become a traditional stage.

Two wonderful projects, resembling such a unique historical site, became an organic complement to each other. If “Voices of History” is a theater festival, “Summer in the Kremlin” has become the name of all meetings of spectators with artists of various directions.

On June 2, young theatergoers will have another meeting with the heroes of books. The Big Puppet Theater in the Consistory Courtyard will present the audience with the production of “Once it happened.” For residents of Vologda, this stage has long been a favorite place. Here, for many years, actors of various theatrical groups have performed in front of them.

If last year about 4 thousand spectators were able to attend events held in the Consistory Courtyard, then this year the scope of the project will expand significantly. Performances of artists will take place on many stages of the city. As always, the festival program is diverse - Vologda residents will see the work of festival guests from St. Petersburg. Theater named after Pushkin will present the play “Marriage” staged by Valery Fokin.

The famous ensemble “Rus” will come from Vladimir, the theater from Cherepovets will bring a wonderful comedy, and the Vologda Theater will show the audience “Hamlet”.
