ARKHANGELSK. Despite the recent official closing of the theater season, the Arkhangelsk Puppet Theater invites audiences of all ages to attend the premiere performance of The Magic Ring. The production is based on a fairy tale written by the northern storyteller Boris Shergin, whose anniversary is celebrated on June 28th.

On the day when the first premiere of the play takes place, Arkhangelsk actors and their fans celebrate another anniversary - June 29 marks 310 years since the day when the first theatrical performance took place in Arkhangelsk. In honor of these memorable dates, a fairy tale is shown, the plot of which is familiar to everyone from early childhood.

For those who do not have time to watch it on the first day, the actors will show a fabulous performance on the next day, June 30th. Further meetings with the main character, the boy Vanya, who had to make a choice between treasures and friends, will take place only in the next theater season.

The fairy tale in the Arkhangelsk Puppet Theater, the actors were helped by the director Boris Konstantinov, invited by the team from St. Petersburg, and the Moscow art director Viktor Platonov. Work on the play continued throughout the theater season.

For the troupe, the season ended was also anniversary - on June 6, the theater celebrated its 80th birthday. However, the anniversary celebrations are scheduled for November, and at the end of the season two premieres were shown to the audience - S. Marshak’s fairy tale “Teremok” was played for the kids, and adult viewers saw the performance staged by Gogol’s works “Petersburg Dreams”.

To date, the theater’s repertoire consists of thirty-one performances, nine of which are designed for adult viewers. The theater is led by Dmitry Lokhov, Honored Artist of Russia.
