The first festival of "small form performances" opened on June 2 in Vologda Automatic translate
VOGDA. Vologda theatergoers have already become accustomed to receive guests and participants of theater forums at various levels in their city. On June 2, at the initiative of the Vologda branch of the Theater Union of the Russian Federation, a new theater festival "Dialogue" opened in the city. At it, theater groups from different cities and countries will present their productions of small forms.
The term "small form performances" means that the performance must be one-act, no more than four actors must be involved in it, and the stage is framed with a minimum of props. When selecting performances for the festival program, this was strictly taken into account.
12 performances selected by international-class experts take part in the festival. Vologda is not represented in the list of participants, since it was initially envisaged that the festival is a guest, the host party acts only as friendly hosts. At its opening, Nina Mazur, vice president of the Institute of Theater, working under the auspices of UNESCO, spoke. She noted that the newly created international festival automatically entered the UNESCO attention zone and wished the participants success. Many theaters brought their works to the audience, which have already received recognition at international competitions. On the first day of the festival, spectators were able to see theaters from Belarus, Ukraine and the ZOOpark theater in Nizhny Novgorod.
The stage for the performances was provided by the Teremok Puppet Theater and the Vologda Youth Theater. The following festival days will bring many surprises to the audience - the theater from Sweden will show the play “Soundtrack of my life” in Russian, but the collective from Kyrgyzstan decided to introduce the audience to their native language. The festival will end on June 8 with a performance by artists who came from Lithuania, “Performance after the performance”.
