In "Gogol Center" the premiere of the play with the plot of the famous movie Automatic translate
MOSCOW. On April 17, on the big stage of the Gogol Center, viewers were presented with the first theatrical work of the famous film director Alexei Mizgirev - the performance “Brothers”. The production was based on the famous film “Rocco and His Brothers.” Two more performances await the audience, embodying scenarios of famous films on stage. Kirill Serebryannikov and Vladislav Nastashev work on the productions.
Mizgirev worked on the creation of the play in collaboration with Mikhail Durnenkov. Both of them once came to the capital from small Russian cities, so they know from their own experience how difficult it is for the provincials in a big city. It is about the complexities of metropolitan life that the story is being narrated on stage. Work on the play was not easy for the director and for the actors.
From the screenplay, the authors took only the storyline, the action was transferred to modern Moscow, and four brothers remained. Instead of names, the brothers received not too harmonious nicknames. Their professions became even cooler - if the Italian brothers made a living from boxing, then Mizgirev turned them into participants in fights without rules. In order to make everything look “real” on the stage, actors Dorofeev, a well-known cinematic in the cinema environment, gave lessons to the actors.
Despite the “real” battles, it is difficult to talk about the performance as a model of realism - it has a lot of conventions. The whole scene is a boxing ring, and the auditorium looks like stands with fans. The action taking place on the stage constantly causes the audience to associate with popular films made over the past two decades.
Although there is no character in the play who could be distinguished as the hero of Superman, the audience still empathizes with each of the brothers.
