"Fifth Theater" staged the play "Cranes Are Flying" for the anniversary of Victor Rozov Automatic translate
OMSK. The Fifth Theater presented to the public the premiere performance of Cranes Flying, the basis for which was the famous play by Viktor Rozov, Eternally Alive, written by the playwright in 1943. The play became known to the theater public 13 years later, because for censorship reasons it was forbidden to stage.
Only in 1956, Oleg Efremov opened the famous "Contemporary" with the premiere of the play "Forever Alive". A year later, the film put on the play by Rozov, Mikhail Kalatozov’s "Cranes Are Flying", awarded the highest award at the Cannes Film Festival, passed with triumphant success on the screens of the country.
The play of the famous playwright appeared in the repertoire of Omsk’s Fifth Theater not by chance. The theater team celebrated the centenary of the birth of Viktor Rozov with this production. Although Rozov knows about the war from his own experience, but the play does not talk about military life. This is a story of love, the tragedy of people separated by war. This is a test of people for moral qualities, the problem of choosing the life path made by each of the characters in the play.
Director of the theater, Boris Tseytlin, worked on the production of the play, more than once collaborating with the theater staff. He also developed the scenography of the play, and its design with light. The events that took place on the stage caused sincere empathy of the audience, because the actors did not play, they lived in the stage space. Therefore, a love story that took place many decades ago did not look old-fashioned.
Appealing to this play is a difficult task for the director, but Boris Zeitlin did not make a sensation out of the work familiar to the audience from the famous film and theatrical productions. He simply staged a wonderful performance about love against the backdrop of the war, and the theater staff worthily embodied the directorial version of the play.
