Actors of the main theater of Kamchatka celebrate their anniversary on the day of the Theater Automatic translate
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. This year, for the Kamchatka Drama and Comedy Theater, Theater Day became a double holiday - the theater team celebrates its eightieth birthday. Its history began in 1933, when in a small wooden club, the actors invited the audience to their first performance. Three years after the fire, the theater was left homeless, and only in the autumn of 1939 the troupe of the theater noted a housewarming party - a new building was built, also wooden, but designed specifically for the theater collective.
During the war, the actors continued to work, and in 1945, immediately after the victory, a tour of the Kuril Islands took place, where the stage was served not only by clubs, but also by the deck on ships. Finally, in 1964, the theater received a real treasure - a new building in the center of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. From 2006 to 2010, the theater underwent extensive repairs. Now the actors are playing in the updated hall, the stage is equipped with new equipment.
For its anniversary, combined with a professional holiday, the theater staff thoroughly prepared. Anniversary events will be held for four days, starting on March 27th. The holiday will be opened with the premiere of the play “Life is Beautiful,” based on Chekhov’s plays. This performance was the debut of director Anton Kovalenok, who began his work as the artistic director of the theater from the end of January 2013.
Immediately upon entering the theater, a surprise will await the audience - they will be in the thirties of the last century, in those times when the theater was founded. The music popular in the thirties will sound, dances to the gramophone will take place, hawkers will offer refreshments. A photo exhibition located on the walls of the lobby will introduce viewers to rare photographs from theatrical funds.
