The premiere performance "Papa" of the new Rostov theater is dedicated to his native city Automatic translate
GROWTH. City theatergoers who managed to attend the premiere performance of the +18 Theater, which appeared in the new cultural and experimental space of MAKARONKA located on the territory of the former factory, they saw not only the performance “Papa”, but also were able to get acquainted with the works of creative artists, whose exhibition was opened as part of a new project.
The center of the project was the independent 18+ Theater, headed by Moscow director Yuri Muravitsky, planning to acquaint viewers with the latest in modern drama, shown by combining various fields of art. The first work shown to the audience in Rostov was the musical “Papa”, staged by the theater’s chief director.
The play was based on a play written by Lyubov Mulmenko, but in fact this premiere is the result of the joint work of the entire troupe of the theater. The name of the performance reminds of the popular prefix to the name of the city - “Rostov-papa”. It is no coincidence that this particular performance was chosen for the opening of the theater; the city of Rostov itself became its main character.
In the process, the theater actors talked with the townspeople, among whom were not only extraordinary people, but also random passers-by. From their monologues and cues, an image of the city was created. The text in the play was not invented; it was compiled from the words spoken by the inhabitants of Rostov themselves.
Another important component of the performance was its musical accompaniment - informal musicians of Rostov performed on the stage of the theater. These were the well-known groups in the city: the Church of Childhood, the Ataman Palace and Papa Shrap, whose leaders also became participants in the creation of the texts of the play.
The next premiere of the Theater "18+" - the play "How Alive", staged by the play by M. Zelinskaya, will be held at the end of next week.
