Director Roman Gabriah called his work "epics of the present" Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. The Baltic House Theater on January 12, 13 on the Small Stage will present the audience with the premiere performance staged by Faina Grimberg’s poem “Andrei Ivanovich Returns Home”. Director Roman Gabrias, who staged the play, called its genre - "bylina present."
In a poem written by a talented writer and poetess Faina Grimberg, telling about two women living in anticipation of Andrei Ivanovich, an ordinary soldier who fell victim to the first Chechen war.
Roman Gabria says that for the scenic embodiment of the poem, a theater technique was used, typical of the productions of Brecht’s plays. The main character of this performance was live music of various genres. Within an hour and a half, folk tunes will sound from the stage - ditties, lullabies, songs of mourners.
The musical canvas of the performance will be the sounds of the balalaika, from ancient times accompanying festivities and wars, funerals and weddings. From time to time, in stories about the war, electronic music comes to the aid of an old instrument, giving the performance a modern sound.
Unfortunately, today, as before, the image of war, passing through the entire plot of Faina Grimberg’s poem, remains relevant. Even if hostilities take place far from the house where the heroines of the play live, it destroys the bonds between people and their destinies. The performance, staged by the St. Petersburg director Roman Gabri, was the first stage embodiment of the poem by Faina Grimberg.
The actors who graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Theater Arts in 2005, studying with Grigory Kozlov - Sergey Agafonov, Alla Danishevskaya, Ksenia Morozova and Denis Penyugin are employed in the play. The premiere will be attended by the author of the poem, Faina Grimberg.
