In the play "Polytheatre" Hamlet’s monologues will be voiced by Polonius Automatic translate
MOSCOW. The new stage in the capital, Polytheater, which opened this spring at the Polytechnic Museum, will present the premiere performance Polonius on the 21st of December to the theater public, based on the plot of the immortal Shakespeare’s play Hamlet.
Unlike the classic “Hamlet”, the version of the play, read by the director of the play Slava Vipzon, has another protagonist, whose name became the name of the play. Fundamentally, the plot of the play has not changed - Hamlet returns to Elsinore in connection with the received news of the death of his father and the future new marriage of the mother with his brother.
However, the director, for whom this performance became a debut, claims that initially Shakespeare saw Polonia in one of the main characters and, deciding to rectify the situation, part of Hamlet’s monologues gave Polonia. Due to the fact that this character was given a lot of attention in the version of Vipzon Glory, the performance got its name.
In the role of Polonius, viewers will see one of the leaders of the counterculture, Vladislav Mamyshev-Monroe, obliged to fame for his performances based on reincarnations into various historical figures. He received his prefix to the name in connection with the appearance on the stage in the image of the famous actress. For the first time, Vladislav performs as an actor in the theater.
In his opinion, the play is so universal that all its productions at different times and in different countries were always relevant, as they could be compared with any specific situation. Today’s production has also become a reflection of the realities of our time.
Visually, the performance is also interesting. The scenery and costumes were invented by the famous artist Katya Filatova, whose works were exhibited in the Louvre. However, they are not recommended to re-read Shakespeare before watching the performance.
