At the festival in Veliky Novgorod showed a performance in the Znamensky Cathedral Automatic translate
In Veliky Novgorod, the premiere of the play “Peter and Fevronia”, the stage for which is the Sign Cathedral, on December 5 opened the IV International Theater Theater Festival “Theatrical Veche”.
The performance was staged in an unusual genre - the audience gets acquainted with the life story of patrons of family values in a vocal-choral form. The production director, Honored Artist of Russia Daniil Donchenko, approached the embodiment of the content of the Old Russian story, as a variant of the liturgical drama, when the performance takes place in the church, and the storyline is led by readers and singers.
The chamber choir of Yuri Nikiforov acted as singers, and the artists Tatyana Karataeva and Anatoly Ustinov became the readers. The music for the unique production was written by Alexander Leonov, whose musical projects are already familiar to the Novgorod public. The action is accompanied by a video sequence in which ancient miracles are shown.
All the performances brought to the festival by theater groups from different cities have already received recognition from the theater public. The work of the Moscow Glas Theater, the performance The Return, which viewers will see on the stage of the Dostoevsky Drama Theater on December 7, was especially honored to be shown in 2009 in the hall intended for church meetings located in the Moscow Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The performance is dedicated to Princess E.F. Romanova, but represents the fate of the long-suffering country.
The festival will end on December 14th. On this day, the play “Three Sisters”, staged by the Leningrad Theater “Holy Fortress” from Vyborg, will be shown on the stage platform of the drama theater. Within the framework of the festival, forums will be held in which not only artists, but also interested spectators can take part.
