The performance “The Science of Love”, staged by Ivan Stavissky, opened on November 10 in St. Petersburg the third international festival “ArtOkraina”, in which chamber theaters will show their work. In the main program of the festival, viewers will see performances brought by seven theaters from four Russian cities. Another participant in the festival program will be the Matara Theater, which arrived in St. Petersburg from Israel.
Performances will be shown on the stage of the St. Petersburg Theater "Beyond the Black River". The ArtOkraine Theater Festival brings together spectators and participants for the third time, each time opening new interesting theater groups, attracting the attention of spectators and theater critics to small Russian and foreign theaters. For the creators and performers of performances, informal communication with colleagues and the public becomes important, and most importantly, the opportunity to present their work to a wider audience.
In addition to performances, the participants of the festival will have workshops, a round table where they will talk about the problems that arise in small theaters, as well as two creative meetings with the authors of the plays. The playwrights will be presented by Ksenia Dragunskaya and Yuri Klavdiev, who is an active participant in the New Drama theater movement. The work of Ksenia Dragunskaya will be presented at the festival by the play “Cork” performed by the Moscow theater “APARTe”.
In the theater library, located on Ostrovsky Square, you can get acquainted with the exhibition, the materials of which will tell about past festivals. After the end of each performance, everyone will have the opportunity to take part in a conversation with theater critics. The festival closes on November 19 with the play “Don’t Let Me Go” staged by Pyotr Shereshevsky
