Theater Almanac "Love" - ​​a youth project in the center of Meyerhold Automatic translate

On Saturday, October 27th, the Meyerhold Center provided the Big Stage for a thematic festival of short films entitled “Theater Almanac“ Love ”. This is the third “Theater Almanac”, implemented with the help of the production group “Vottebe” and the support of the Meyerhold Center.

To participate in the festival, the performance should be put on a topic set by the organizers and last no more than twenty minutes. At the same time, every director’s work should not be an excerpt from the production, it should be just a performance with a finished plot. Two previous festivals revealed the themes of “Freedom” and “Hero” to the audience.

At the Saturday festival, the performances of which lasted almost six hours, 16 miniature productions were shown to the audience. In short miniatures, young actors and their artistic directors tried to convey to the audience their understanding of all the facets of a complex feeling. The performances talked about love in the past and hopes for love in the future, transferred the feelings of Pushkin’s Tatyana to the present.

The main meaning of the festival is the freedom of actors’ creativity within a given topic, using a given direction. There are no restrictions in the genre - it can be a synthesis of any arts embodied on the stage. Actors use poetry, plastic compositions on a given topic, and prose in their works.

Most of the tests that formed the basis of the miniatures were written by festival participants. The performances presented at the festival are works staged by their authors in their free time. Each of the participants is engaged in other theaters, but the possibility of creative freedom has become the main reason forcing actors to take part in the festival project.
