Pushkin and Byron connected in the play "Near Eugene Onegin" Automatic translate
Concert Hall of the Museum-Reserve A.S. Pushkin’s “Mikhailovskoye” provided an opportunity for visitors to the reserve to see the performance of GITIS students “Near Eugene Onegin”, dedicated to the birthday of the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum.
The performance was prepared by students of the creative workshop of Oleg Kudryashov, directed by Svetlana Zemlyakova. The script of the play is based on excerpts from two famous works - Pushkin’s Eugene Onegin and Don Guan, written by the English romantic poet, Lord Byron. These works were not combined in the play by chance - it is known that Byron was the idol of Alexander Pushkin.
The creators of the play borrowed the first song from the English poet, in which the author is busy searching for the “hero” of his poetic novel, describing the life of the most ordinary family from Seville. In his opinion, only in this area could a famous master of conquering female hearts appear. By combining the two works, the authors of the play draw parallels between them, because in essence they are two novels in verse, and each has something unsaid.
GITIS professor Oleg Kudryashov is familiar to the audience as the founder of the musical theater “The Third Direction” with his work in the theater of the Soviet Army, and gained even greater fame by working with Elena Kamburova in her Theater of Music and Poetry. His directorial works were the production of Antigone and Seven Teacher’s Notebooks…, where Elena Kamburova played the main role.
It is worth noting that young actors are frequent guests at Mikhailovsky. The Pushkin School brought many of its premiere performances from St. Petersburg, and other students of the Academy of Theater Arts from the Northern capital visited here. GITIS students also participate in the work of Mikhailovsky.
