They were on the same wavelength and in the versatility of hobbies, deep knowledge in painting, literature, and other forms of art.

The courage with which he accepted a fatal illness and early departure, a farewell concert played a couple of days before his death, unwillingness to broadcast his pain to others cause unlimited respect. The power of his charm, sincerity and openness was so large-scale and contagious that it did not give rise to Salrev’s envy. Only sincere delight in contact with this art. Therefore, his friends and colleagues are so eager to respond to the invitation to participate in the festival in memory of Oleg Kagan, so those who were lucky to see the musician on stage are eager to get on it. Mstislav Rostropovich noted the most important quality that was inherent in Kaagan. He was distinguished by an incredible tenderness for music, friends, for the people around him.
