A round date is a reason for change. Impeccable acoustics and a new team at the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Automatic translate
NOVOSIBIRSK. At the opening of the new season of the Philharmonic, the most famous work of Karl Orff sounded.
The round date - 80 years - the Novosibirsk Philharmonic meets fully equipped. Opened three years ago, the Arnold Katz Hall, which hosts rehearsals and most of the concerts, found worthy acoustics. It was possible to eliminate the main problems identified in the very first days of the functioning of the new site: unacceptably high level of low frequency reverberation, noise from ventilation, hum, extraneous sounds and other defects. Equipping the hall with special Black out panels and curtains, the position of which can be changed if necessary, helped radically change the situation.
Work on improving acoustics will continue further. But now, experts believe that the main concert hall of the Siberian capital is not inferior to the most famous concert venues in the world in this indicator. The stage cantata of Karl Orff “Carmina Burana”, prepared for the opening of the new season, made a grand impression on the audience gathered on September 8 in the renewed hall.
The work, written on verses of vagantas, was performed by a new collective of the philharmonic society - the choral chapel conducted by Igor Yudin, the children’s choir, soloists - Tatyana Kostina, Pavel Yankovsky, Vyacheslav Vorobyov, and a symphony orchestra conducted by Gintaras Rinkevichus. Powerful and soulful. The appearance of the chapel on the basis of the Chamber Choir - new opportunities in terms of choosing an interesting repertoire, beauty and harmonious sound, the degree of impact on the audience.
