Dreams of peace, seventy years and the eternal "Prague Spring" Automatic translate
PRAGUE. The 71st Prague Spring Music Festival opened.
In the second decade of May, the Czech capital, and so not offended by tourists, welcomes thousands of new guests. The beginning of the annual Pražké jaro festival (“Prague Spring”) in the Rudolfinum concert hall is traditionally announced by the bedřich Smetana symphonic poem “My Motherland” (Bedřich Smetana). The Classical Music Festival, dedicated to the anniversary of the Czech Philharmonic, was first held in 1946 at the initiative of the famous conductor Rafael Jeroným Kubelík. Hiding from the Nazis, he dreamed of a world that would return beautiful music to his beloved city. In 1948, Kubelik, who did not accept the Communists coming to power, was forced to emigrate. He decided to return only in 1990, a year after the Velvet Revolution (Sametová revoluce).
Stars of the first magnitude from different countries seek to get to the prestigious festival with glorious traditions and wonderful atmosphere. The star cast of the anniversary "Spring" will delight the most demanding connoisseurs of classical music. This is an opportunity to hear the Bruckner Fifth Symphony performed by the Berlin State Chapel under the inspirational direction of Daniel Barenboim and works by Čiurlionis Quartet in the interpretation of Čiurlionis Quartet. Among the guests are the Shanghai Opera Company (Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe), musicians from Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, South Korea. Participants and guests of the Prague Spring will find themselves in a whirlpool of celebrations of the 700th anniversary of the great Czech king and enlightener Charles IV.
