III Trans-Siberian Art Festival - a journey into the world of music along the Trans-Siberian Railway Automatic translate
NOVOSIBIRSK. An international team of musicians opened the III Trans-Siberian Art Festival.
The successful adult career of violinist Vadim Repin is a rare exception to the rule that rarely favors yesterday’s child prodigies. After the adolescent triumphs in Tokyo, New York, Munich, victory at the Queen’s Brussels contest, luck did not leave him even after. But he does not forget about his small homeland, being at the peak of his career. The appearance of a new concert hall allowed to realize the idea of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival. The highway, which gave it the name and determined the fate of the big city, is a symbol of an exciting musical journey. So the current festival opened with a program that declared the eternal theme of the road.
“On the Road Again” invited famous musicians from different countries. Israeli viola player, violinist and chief guest conductor of the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, winner of the Grammy Award Pinchas Zukerman. Canadian cellist Amanda Forsyth, member of the Zukerman Chamber Players ensemble, warmly received by the public and critics. Pietari Inkinen is another “Bronov nestling chick”, a student of the brilliant teacher Zakhar Bron, the main conductor of symphony orchestras in Tokyo, Prague, the festival in Ludwigsburg. On the opening day, April 9, Brahms, Vivaldi, Saint-Saens and Mozart sounded at the concert. Zuckerman demonstrated masterly mastery of the bow and conductor’s wand.
In Novosibirsk, the festival hosts a new concert hall named after Arnold Katz. The first Trans-Siberian was dedicated to this outstanding conductor, who led the symphony orchestra founded by him for half a century. The geography of the Third Festival is vast: Novosibirsk, several other Siberian cities, Yekaterinburg, Moscow, a month later - Japan, Israel, South Korea. The founder and artistic director of the festival will take part in eight concerts. Among the star guests are Misha Maisky, Boris Berezovsky, Daniil Trifonov, Polad Bulbul-oglu, a duet of twin brothers Gurfinkel, representatives of the famous clarinet dynasty.
