Georgy Efremov was awarded the prize for translating poems by Lithuanian poets - Nick-Nilyunas, Norvilas, Aistis and a collection of selected works by Tomas Venclova, a famous writer, human rights activist, and dissident. 10 years ago, Efremov became the first winner of the Jurgis Baltrushaitis Prize for his outstanding contribution to Russian and Lithuanian culture. Hispanic philologist, holder of the Chilean order of Gabriela Mistral Natalia Vanhanen received a prize for translations of Cuban poets. The best in the "children’s" nomination were Olga Myazots and Dmitry Karelsky.
