"White Spot" on the literary map of Novosibirsk Automatic translate
NOVOSIBIRSK. In the capital of Siberia, the literary festival "White Spot" has ended.
Novosibirsk, called Lunacharsky Siberian Chicago, was never a cultural province. The concentration of creative teams evacuated here during the war years, priceless collections exported from museums and art galleries is amazing. Here lived and worked the writer Alexander Kozachinsky, the author of the novel "The Green Van", the musicologist Ivan Sollertinsky, conductors Yevgeny Mravinsky and Kurt Sanderling, composers Georgy Sviridov, Matvey Blanter, Oscar Feltsman, collectives from Moscow, Leningrad, Belarus, and Ukrainian theaters. Powerful creativity in subsequent years was not wasted.
The names of Ilya Lavrov, Savva Kozhevnikov, Vladimir Sapozhnikov, Casimir Lisovsky, Elizaveta Stuart, Mikhail Mikheev are inscribed in the literary history of Novosibirsk. In memory of the latter, in 1994, the White Spot literary festival was established (after the name of one of his most famous adventure novels, The Secret of the White Spot), in which, until a certain time, mostly science fiction writers participated. The 2010 reboot abolished preexisting restrictions. The participation of writers working in different genres has significantly expanded the audience of the literary forum and the range of topics discussed at it.
This year, the festival, held in Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region from November 17 to 19, was attended by the winner of the National Bestseller 2016 award, writer Leonid Yuzefovich, who received it for the novel Winter Road. His daughter, a writer, a well-known literary critic, book reviewer of the Meduza project, Galina Yuzefovich, took part in the opening of the Literary Club in the Regional Scientific Library. Director of the library Svetlana Tarasova - President of the Russian Library Association, member of the jury of the Russian Booker.
