Strugatsky Prize awarded to physics teacher Robert Ibatullin Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. Summer Solstice, Pulkovo Observatory and the best science fiction novel.
Every year, June 21, the Center for Contemporary Literature and Books announces the name of the best science fiction writer. The date of presentation of the memorial prize was chosen by simple calculations: a compromise between August 28 and April 15 - the birthdays of Arkady Natanovich and Boris Natanovich, separated by exactly two months. 17 years ago, the first winners were the writer Evgeny Lukin and critic Vsevolod Revich. In the list of winners of different years in the nominations “Prose” and “Journalism” Dmitry Bykov, Gennady Prashkevich, Mikhail Uspensky, Kir Bulychev and the pioneer of the ABS Prize Evgeny Lukin repeatedly appeared.
This year’s laureate, Robert Ibatullin, can equally be attributed to physicists and lyricists. To the first - in accordance with the diploma of a graduate of the Faculty of Physics of BashSU, still teaching a favorite subject to less well-versed neophytes in it. The second (with some assumptions and exaggerations) - in connection with a scientific degree in history, short editions, early literary experiences and the debut "space" novel "Rose and the Worm."
It was for him that Ibatullin received the treasured seven-sided nut, a solid cash prize and moral satisfaction. Readers and professionals agree that his work can be safely attributed to the best examples of high-quality science fiction. In the journalism category, the book of Prashkevich and Borisov, dedicated to Stanislav Lem, won. The award ceremony was held at the Pulkovo Observatory, where Boris Natanovich worked for several years in the 60s.
