Fantastic assembly kicks off in St. Petersburg Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. For the fifth time, the fantastic community of Russia gathered on August 14 at the St. Petersburg Fantastic Assembly. This year, the main topics of the specialized literary forum were futurology, literature for adolescents, "niche literature", computer games and translations. The participants of the forum will be awarded with special prizes for non-conformist innovative work and for the best image of a woman in Russian science fiction.
The organizer of the assembly, Vasily Vladimirsky, notes that the main purpose of the litforum is the exchange of views, positions and opinions. “Our task is for guests to return from the assembly with inspired new ideas and thoughts,” he said. Vladimirsky also noted that this year’s conference will bring together people from different industries, who rarely intersect in everyday life. Therefore, during the 4 days of the forum, discussions and brainstorming sessions on various topics will be held that will allow everyone to take part in them.
This year, the honorary guest of the St. Petersburg Assembly was the British writer, astrophysicist, participant of the European space program Alastair Reynolds, who managed to revive respect among an adult audience for such a frivolous literary genre as the “new space opera”.
In total, the conference, which runs until August 17, is scheduled to host more than 60 events that are already ongoing and will continue without interruption until the end of the forum. So, today a round table has already been held, at which writers, marketers and fans of the Potterians discussed the phenomenon of the famous writer Joan Rowling. Tomorrow will also be full of interesting events - experienced authors will share their knowledge with aspiring science fiction writers, and New Horizons and Running on the Waves awards will be awarded.
