HONG KONG. The largest and most unusual book fair in the world, located on board the Logos Hope liner, is visiting Hong Kong. On the eve of July 30, the opening ceremony of the fair took place on the ship docked at the port, where crew members dressed in costumes of different nationalities performed a theatrical performance.
Over 5 thousand titles of books of various directions, including science, cooking, sports, medicine, art, philosophy, fiction, children’s literature and others, are located on the decks of a huge liner. In the ship-styled video room, visitors to the floating fair can get acquainted with the history of this unique project, as well as see rare art objects exhibited on the liner.
About 400 volunteers from 50 countries serve the book exhibition, the ship with which will remain in Hong Kong until August 9. Everyone who wants to visit the Logos Hope will have to buy an entrance ticket for 10 Hong Kong dollars, but for visitors over 65 and children under 12 years old, admission is free.
The floating fair was created by the German non-governmental charitable organization Good Books for All. The main goal of the community is to provide knowledge, hope and help to people around the world. According to the organizers of the project, next time the Logos Hope airliner will arrive in Hong Kong no sooner than in 8-10 years, during which time it will go to all cities and countries of the world.
