Shirley Jackson’s collection of unknown stories will be published Automatic translate
A new collection of stories by a cult writer who created her works in the horror genre of Shirley Jackson (years 1916-1965) will soon appear on the shelves of US bookstores.
A bright representative of American literature of the twentieth century, who wrote in the genre of horror, managed to do a lot for her short but wonderful life - to give life to four children and enrich the American literary fund with creations that forever went down in history as one of the best examples of the work of the horror genre. From her pen came the classic novel “The Ghost of a House on a Hill,” which was repeatedly filmed by Hollywood filmmakers. And her story “Lottery” (1948) is considered the best work ever published on the pages of the “New Yorker”. It is a generally recognized fact that Shirley Jackson not only noticeably influenced the work of many American authors writing in the horror genre, but also became a guiding star for them, including for the king of horrors Stephen King.
A collection of short stories, some of which Shirley did not have time to complete due to her sudden death, her children decided to publish when they found many unpublished manuscripts in their mother’s archival materials. The book "Let me tell you…", dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the death of the writer, will be a striking addition to the creative heritage of Shirley Jackson.
