Unknown works of the Strugatsky brothers will be published in Russia Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. The 33-volume collection of works by the Strugatsky brothers is planned to be published at the end of this year. Fans of creativity and fans of the genre will be invited to get acquainted with previously unknown to the general public works of the classics of modern social and science fiction.
The latest collection of works by Boris and Arkady Strugatsky will include novels and stories of writers, diaries, personal letters and drawings that have never been published before. According to Sergei Arno, head of the Strugatsky Brothers Fund, today 10 volumes of the new library are ready for publication, but some exclusively organizational issues are still being addressed. But Arno assured that the first books from a multivolume collection of works will see the light already at the end of the outgoing year.
The publication of such a large new library of creativity of the Strugatsky brothers became possible only thanks to the long and painstaking work of a group of science fiction creativity researchers led by writer Svetlana Bondarenko, four-time winner of the Arkady and Boris Strugatsky literary prize. She said that outstanding literary scholars from Ukraine, Russia and America worked on collecting material for a multi-volume collection. Bondarenko herself comes from the city of Donetsk, where for many years she collected and stored a complete archive of the works of science fiction writers. However, in May last year, due to the threat of the destruction of valuable materials that arose as a result of the hostilities unfolding in this region of Ukraine, part of the archive of the Strugatsky’s works was transferred to St. Petersburg.
