TVER. In Tver, the seventh annual International Poetry Festival “Singing Letters” ended, in which contestants from eight Slavic countries took part. The opening ceremony of the festival was timed to the day of the celebration of Slavic writing and culture - May 24, the whole poetry festival lasted three days.
The event began with a visit to the monument of Cyril and Methodius, located near the philological faculty of the Tver State Institute. Then all the members of the poetry forum took part in the already traditional planting of seedlings in the Friendship Alley. The solemn ceremony of completing the “Singing Letters” and awarding the winners of the festival took place in the concert hall of the Tver Philharmonic. The Organizing Committee presented commemorative diplomas to the winners in several categories.
Muscovite Alexei Vitakov became the laureate in the nomination “For long-term outstanding creative activity”. The diploma “For the promotion of Russian literature abroad” was awarded to the poetess Natalya Popova from Bulgaria. In the nomination “Creativity of the Young” Tatyana Vinokurova from Tver became the laureate. Thanks to her translations, Muscovite Alexandra Shishken became the owner of a memorable diploma of the festival “Singing Letters”.
One of the leaders of the festival, Sergey Glovlyuk, noted that “Singing Letters” occupy a significant place in the development of Russian literature. Thanks to this project, the literary magazine of the same name was released, which included the best poetry collections written not only in Russian, but also in other Slavic languages. The publication "Singing Letters" was sent to all libraries in the Tver region.
