MOSCOW. In honor of the celebration of Pushkin’s birthday on June 6, Moscow will host the first of its kind socio-cultural event called “Archive Night”. The beginning of the literary campaign is scheduled for 5 pm.
The project, organized as part of the Year of Literature in Russia, will open up new opportunities for fans of the great Russian poet. All visitors to the Moscow archive, access to which on ordinary days is allowed only to its employees and researchers, will present original autographs of A.S. Pushkin and other great classics of Russian literature. Also, guests of the event will be able to visit the archives and learn about the procedure for storing documentation.
The action "Night in the Archive", dedicated to Pushkin Day, is designed to show the general public what the great poet lived. Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to see manuscripts, autographs, rough drafts of Pushkin and his letters to relatives and friends. All the main materials related to the great writer are stored in the archives of the St. Petersburg Institute of Literature. Only a few researchers have access to them. Therefore, the planned socio-cultural event is especially important because it will provide a unique opportunity to touch the true creative heritage of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.
At the end of the “Night in the Archive” campaign, the organizers planned to hold a costume ball at which Pushkin’s poems and romances will be sung, and students of the RSUH will play a theatrical miniature based on one of his works.
