A traditional reading marathon was held in Varna Automatic translate
VARNA. The Russian center in Varna hosted a traditional reading marathon dedicated to World Book and Copyright Day. The organizer was the University Library of Varna Free University (APU). Chernoritsa Khrabra and Regional Library named after Penche Slaveykova. Thus, the library management expressed their respect for the Russian Center, which regularly holds cultural events dedicated to the Year of Literature in Russia.
The organizers of the readings invited all students to participate in the event, where they read excerpts from their favorite works in the original language. More than 100 people came to the Russian Center, among them teachers and students of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, not only from Bulgaria, but also their Nigeria, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, as well as employees of the Varna Regional Library.
Since the event was organized in honor of the Year of Literature in Russia, its beginning was marked by the opening of the book exhibition “Russians - Nobel Prize Laureates in Literature”. Then there was a presentation, at which interesting facts about the Nobel Prize were announced and five Russian writers who received this prestigious award were told: Brodsky, Sholokhov, Pasternak, Solzhenitsyn and Bunin.
Then the action continued with a traditional reading marathon. This year, participants in the marathon selected works in Bulgarian, Russian, English, German, Turkish, Kazakh, Spanish, Chinese, Sanskrit and Nigerian. Sounded excerpts from the works of Pushkin, Shakespeare, Quevedo, Dimitrov, Aimatov, Wordsworth and other famous writers. Students from Nigeria prepared poems and songs in their native language, and the Chinese declared works by native authors in their own translation into English. The speech of student Nikita Zubiyashvili, who read in pure Bulgarian language the poem “Russia” by Ivan Vazov, was especially memorable.
After the marathon, the director of the Russian Center Galina Shamonina and the head of the university library Maria Minkova from the Regional Library named after Pencho Slaveykova received certificates for personal participation in cultural promotion and education, good organization and responsiveness. And to each student who took part in the marathon, the university library presented a book of classical literature.
