Writers and poets from Ukraine and the USA represent the largest number of nominees.
The presentation of the prize will be held in three categories - “Small Prose”, “Large Prose” and “Poetry”. In addition, the organizing committee of the competition, together with the jury, established a special prize, which will be awarded to the contestant "For contribution to the development and preservation of the traditions of Russian culture outside the Russian Federation." Three writers are applying for it - Sergey Shatalov from Ukraine for the publication of the four centimeters of the moon almanac and the magazine “Dots”, George Borisov from Bulgaria for the publication of the Fakel magazine and Irina Mashinskaya from the USA for the establishment of the literary project StoSvet.
According to representatives of the press service of the Russian Prize, the short list of laureates will be announced on March 31 this year. The names of the winners will be announced at a traditional press conference, and awards will be presented on April 21 at the award ceremony, which will be held in the capital of Russia. The winners in each nomination will receive a cash reward in the amount of 150 thousand rubles, and the laureates who took second and third place at 60 and 45 thousand rubles.
Recall, the international literary award “Russian Prize” aimed at Russian-speaking writers living outside of Russia was established in 2005. Over the nine years of its existence, the “Russian Prize” has entered the top five most prestigious awards in the field of literature, 73 poets and writers from 19 countries of the world have already become its laureates.
