Almanac for children and adolescents "I want to know everything!" is returning Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. March 25 at the House of Scientists. Gorky held a presentation of the legendary almanac for know-it-all children “I want to know everything!”. Recall that for the first time a scientific and artistic magazine for children and adolescents was published in the Soviet year 1957 and over the next 33 years was one of the most popular publications not only among the younger generation, but also among adults. And now, after 25 years of interruption, the updated almanac "I want to know everything!" Was released by Detgiz Publishing House.
Director of the Detgiz Publishing House Alla Nasonova said that the first issue of the revived popular science magazine came out with the support of RusHydro joint-stock company. The publication contains the best articles from past issues, as well as interesting materials by contemporary authors. 350 pages of the work in an easy and understandable form will tell young readers about five fairly adult popular topics - Earth, man, space, the world of animate and inanimate nature. The first circulation of the almanac is 10 thousand copies, most of which were transferred to educational organizations and city libraries of 40 regions of Russia.
As one of the authors of the Soviet “I want to know everything!”, Writer and translator Yuri Koptev recalls, earlier the publication was read out to holes, many used illustrations from it for various reports, and it was almost impossible to find a fresh issue on the shelves of bookstores. The main task of the writers of the magazine then was not just to create an article about a particular object, event or process, but to write such material that could arouse interest among young readers so that when they started reading, they could no longer put the publication aside. Earlier, both young researchers and world-famous scientists were published in the almanac.
According to one of the authors of the new edition of “I want to know everything!” Sergey Ivanov, on the one hand the work can be called archaic, as it contains articles from old issues, but on the other hand, it is extremely relevant, since not everything what scientists of the last century dreamed and thought of came true. Much remains to be done.
The popular science magazine “I Want to Know Everything!” Began a new life. Its publishers and authors believe that it will be long, and the popularity of the new publication format will surpass the previous Soviet version.
