In this way, the city administration, in the framework of the Year of Literature in Bashkortostan, decide to conduct a propaganda reading campaign for modern society.

The fact is that according to recent studies, Russia has ceased to be the most reading country. So, according to the latest VTsIOM data, on May 24–25 of last year, more than a third of Russians surveyed do not read books. On average, in 2014, every Russian read 4, 55 books over the past six months, while in 2013 this figure was 4, 23 books. However, these data are far from the indicators of twenty years ago, for example, in 1992, for every Russian there were 5, 14 books. According to the survey, the smallest group of respondents is Russian youth aged 18-24. Favorite books of Russian residents are detective stories, love stories and historical literature.

In Ufa, such a propaganda campaign is carried out for the first time, while in other cities of Bashkortostan various literary campaigns were previously organized. So, for example, recently in the Uchalinsky district, the “library on wheels” began to operate, which will serve the residents of the republic. Undoubtedly, many pleasant surprises await the inhabitants of Russia in the Year of Literature.
