The only detective A.P. Chekhov presented at an exhibition in Abakan Automatic translate
ABAKAN. A book-illustrated exhibition dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov opened the other day in the National Library named after N.G. Domozhakova.
At the cultural event, which is held as part of calendar literary dates, unique gift items by A.P. Chekhov. It should be noted that the exhibition presents both copies of the great Russian narrator, published as far back as the last century, and completely “freshly printed” copies. So, one of the “rare” collections presented on the insert was published back in 1966, it included the stories “The Bride”, “Anna on the Neck” and “The Leggings”.
Among contemporary masterpieces of publishing, the author’s collection “Belated Flowers”, released two years ago, as well as the recently published works in Germany, “Drama on the Hunt”, were presented to the general public.
It is worth noting that the aforementioned "Drama on the Hunt" is the only story written by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov in the detective genre. Admirers and critics of Chekhov’s work have still not agreed on one opinion - this work was written by a classic of Russian literature with serious intentions, or nevertheless, under the lines of this dramatic story lies a subtle and ironic Chekhov’s humor.
