MOSCOW. Mann, Ivanov and Ferber Publishing House announced the release of the first book of the famous priest-traveler Fyodor Konyukhov, My Travels. In his book, a novice author talked about climbing Mount Everest, about a solitary campaign to the North Pole, as well as about his other wanderings.
It is worth noting that Fedor Konyukhov is the first and so far the only Russian who has 100% completed the program “Seven World Peaks” - he climbed to the highest points of every continent. For contribution to the protection of the environment, Konyukhov received the UNEP Global 500 Order and the UNESCO Fair Play Prize. In early 2014, he set another world record: alone, on a rowing boat, he crossed the Pacific Ocean in 159 days, 14 hours and 45 minutes. For this achievement, Russian President Vladimir Putin personally presented him with a Miklouho-Maclay gold medal as part of the Fifteenth Congress of the Russian Geographical Society.
“On December 17, a book of the famous traveler, yachtsman, climber, polar explorer Fedor Konyukhov appeared on sale. “My Travels” is an inspirational book for all who are attracted by the wind of wanderings, ”the Moscow business publishing house Mann, Ivanov and Ferber reports in a message.
In the book “My Travels” Konyukhov told about his first wanderings in the Chukotka mountains (1981-1994), about the first circumnavigation of the yachts “Formosa” and “Karaana”, about the ascent to Everest, about a solo trip to the North Pole and about the dangers who lay in wait for him on travels.
In addition, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art is currently hosting works of art by Fyodor Konyukhov. The main part of the exhibition’s exposition is represented by the geographic and pictorial works of a traveler from the period of the 1970s-2014s. The exhibition will run until January 25, 2015.
