SARATOV. A unique family heirloom is a five-volume collected works of M.Yu. Lermontov recently donated to the State Saratov Museum named after K.A. Fedina daughter of Konstantin Alexandrovich Fedin, Nina Konstantinovna.
Books in themselves constitute bibliographic value. To the 50th anniversary of the death of M.Yu. Lermontov, in 1891 a number of anniversary editions were published, including several large collected works. The five-volume collected works donated to the museum were compiled under the editorship and with notes by I. M. Boldakov, the librarian of the Imperial Public Library and published in Moscow by Elizaveta Gerbek.
But the special value of this five-volume book lies in the fact that they belonged to the father of Konstantin Alexandrovich Fedin - Alexander Erofeevich. This is evidenced by the entry on the flyleaf of the first volume: “From the books of my father - A. E. Fedin. KF ". According to experts, the relic of the Fedin family is in almost perfect condition.
The director of the museum, Valentina Semenovna Zhukova, noted that such a valuable collection will soon take pride of place in the first hall of the permanent exhibition “House of Russian Literature of the 20th Century”, whose symbolic name is “Family Tree”. The exhibits collected in this hall are associated not only with Fedin’s childhood and youth spent in Saratov, but are also devoted to all Russian literature of the 19th-20th centuries, the period of the beginning of the development of great Russian literature.
