Digitized the complete works of Leo Tolstoy Automatic translate

In the framework of the project “All Tolstoy in one click”, organized by the Lev Tolstoy State Museum, the Yasnaya Polyana Museum Estate and ABBYY Ukraine, 90 digitized volumes of Leo Tolstoy were uploaded to the network. Complete works are available in PDF, ePub,.fb2,.mobi and html formats.

In addition to famous stories, novels and short stories, the collection includes 13 volumes of diaries, articles and plays on various topics, children’s and youthful literary experiences of the writer, as well as 31 volumes of letters.

“I don’t have a printed 90-volume Tolstoy at home. It is simply impossible to buy. Previously, only a “heavy” archive of photographs of pages that were very difficult to read was available on the net. Having created an electronic version of the complete works with the help of modern technologies, we fulfilled the will of Leo Tolstoy - made his works accessible to everyone, ”says Fekla Tolstaya, the great-great-granddaughter of the writer, head of the development department of the Lev Tolstoy State Museum and the head of the project“ All Tolstoy in one click ”.

Implementation of the project was made possible only thanks to the help of volunteers who agreed to subtract and correct errors on almost fifty thousand digitized pages. More than three thousand people from 50 countries of the world re-read 46.8 thousand digitized pages three times in a year and a half that the project lasted.

“Outwardly, the process looked like a game, a competition: who is the first to finish, who is more likely to read pages. But this is a colossal job for the future. We still have not fully understood the depth of what has been done and is being done, ”said Vladimir Tolstoy, cultural adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.
