ROSTOV-ON-DON. All-Russian start to the upcoming 2015 Year of literature is ready to give the Rostov region. This was announced by Governor Vasily Golubev at a meeting of the regional council on culture and art, held on December 22. He also noted that next year special programs will be created for the active promotion of Don writers and the maintenance of their creative heritage, the press service of the head of the region reports.

It is worth noting that in 2015 the Rostov Region will celebrate the 155th anniversary of the birth of the classic of Russian literature Anton Chekhov, as well as the 110th anniversary of the birth of Nobel Prize winner Mikhail Sholokhov. And in 2016, the region expects another significant anniversary - the 100th anniversary of the birth of Anatoly Kalinin, a Don writer, historian, poet and publicist. In different years, Alexander Fadeev and Vitaliy Zakrutkin lived and worked in the Don, as well as Maxim Gorky and Alexander Solzhenitsyn, inextricably linked with the southern capital.

“In 2015 there will be many interesting events and we need to thoroughly prepare for them. For example, in June, a rally of Cossack youth will take place in the homeland of M.A.Sholokhov in the village of Veshenskaya. We must set a correct and useful example for the whole country, ”said Vasily Golubev, adding that in the Year of Literature special attention will be paid to updating the archives of libraries in cities and districts of the Rostov Region.

Recall that in the Rostov region there are 982 municipal and 3 regional libraries. The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation has already allocated 1.4 million rubles for the purchase of new literature, to which the head of the region promised to add at least 10 million rubles from the local budget.
