The House of Antique Books on Nikitsky announced that in October 2014 a series of auctions will start and one of the main exhibits will be a private collection of antique books and rare manuscripts. On October 9, the opening of the first auction is planned, which will be exhibited lifetime editions of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, present in a private collection. Auction participants will be able to look at these rare exhibits from October 1 to 8 at a pre-auction exhibition held in the "House of Antique Books on Nikitsky." The head of the auction house Sergey Burmistrov said that the collection consists of lifetime editions and manuscripts, magazines with works and all almanacs with poems by Pushkin, published during the life of the great Russian poet.
In addition, auctions with lifetime editions of silver and golden age poets, namely: Lermontov, Griboedov, Gogol and genuine autographs of Turgenev, Chekhov and Tolstoy, will be put up for first auction. According to the organizers, the drawings of Bryullov, Shchedrovsky and other famous artists of the 19th century will also be presented at the auction.
The second pre-auction show will be held from November 12 to 19 and it will feature unique editions of the New Testament of 1580, the Apostle of 1564 and the work of the first printer Ivan Fedorov. Also on the auction list will be an album with caricatures of French artists Terbenev, Venetsianov, Ivanov, dedicated to the actions of the Patriotic War of 1812 and a series of 25 authentic watercolors “Views and Types of Crimea” by Russian artist Joseph Charlemagne. All these unique exhibits will go under the hammer on November 20, 2014 in the "House of Antique Books on Nikitsky."
